Over 100 years of family farming!

In 1904, our great-great grandfather Stanley Kokoski purchased our farm after finding an ad placed for its sale in the local newspaper. The farm, at that time, consisted of various vegetable crops and a small herd of cattle. The milk was brought by horse and wagon to the local train station to be delivered to the dairy.
The next two generations of the family ran the dairy farm, and also began concentrating on crops such as tobacco, onions, asparagus, cucumbers, and potatoes. When John Kokoski, the fourth generation took over the reins from his dad in 1980, the dairy herd began growing at Mapleline.
John’s love for the farm and Jerseys, as well as the need to build a more sustaining dairy operation, lead him to expand the farm’s operations. In 1995, he began trucking the milk to a small processing plant in Ware, MA where it was bottled and then sold it from a tiny store off the front of the original dairy barn. The customers loved the idea of the local farm fresh milk in glass bottles and it was clear the operation was growing. Mapleline purchased the plant in Ware and relocated it to the farm in 2004. In 2006, a new free-stall barn and milking parlor were built to accommodate the growing needs of the expanding herd.
